    Extending the Pink Batts add this illustrates our participation in Christ!

    In short, if we take the Pink Batts metaphor,

    we need to move from being embraced by Christ externally

    to be inhabited by Christ internally

    so that our life becomes his life and his life becomes our life.

    In short, we would have to somehow get ‘into’ Christ, ‘under his skin’, to wear him so that his union with us is so totally embracing it changes us completely.

    [Put Outfit on as I speak]

    We would, in short, have to step into Christ – just like stepping into a Pink Batts Snug suit!

    Galatians 2.20:

    ‘I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me;

    and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,

    who loved me and gave himself for me.’

    1. Mark Smith says:

      Pink’s definitely your colour mate. I understand the theology of this Myk, but the application is somewhat mysterious to me. To move from the external embrace of Christ toward being inhabited internally, do you believe this to be an ongoing discipline or an act of surrender, or both/and? Is surrendering to “Christ in us” and the discipline of “putting on Christ” two ways of saying the same thing or does the Apostle Paul have something else in mind?
      Hope you didn’t wear that outfit in the “sanctuary”!!

    Thanks Myk. I like both your comments and agree we have Christ inside us. Good illustrations.
