In the ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ movies, Captain Jack Sparrow has a compass which seems to be broken as it never points north. But we find out that this compass points towards whatever the person holding it treasures most in their hearts. While speaking on Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness”, I challenged our congregation as to where such a compass would point to if they were to hold it. If I were to hold it, it would probably be pointing back at my self. Our number one priority should be the Kingdom of God. Matthew 13:4 says, “The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all he had and bought it.” Where would Captain Jack Sparrow’s compass point if you held it.
